Microsoft confirms date for Windows Server 2012 and 2012 R2 end of support

Windows Server 2012 and Windows Server 2012 R2 will end on October 10, 2023.  After this date, these products will no longer receive:

  • Security updates
  • Non-security updates
  • Bug fixes
  • Technical support
  • Online technical content updates

The recommendation from Microsoft is that customers migrate applications and workloads to Azure or migrate to a later version of windows, such as Windows server 2022.

With Azure, you can modernise your apps and innovate on your terms with seamless hybrid and multicloud capabilities. Adopting hybrid cloud makes it possible to migrate at your own pace with solutions that simplify the management and governance of both cloud and on-premises IT estates.

Cloud migration and modernisation is a continuous process with opportunities for innovation and flexibility at every stage.

  • Shift from a legacy capital expenditure model to a flexible pay-as-you-consume approach.
  • Bring always-up-to-date Azure services to any infrastructure and benefit from elastic scale and automation.
  • Get unified hybrid security management and advanced threat protection for all your workloads across on-premises, Azure, and other cloud environments.
  • Free up IT resources to focus on innovating and meeting your customers’ needs
