Race The Sun – Brecon Beacons 2016
We are once again pleased to announce that we will have a Frontline team raising money for Action Medical Research in the Race The Sun challenge taking place on the 25th June 2016.
This year the ‘Coulrophobic Philanthropists’ are made up of our only remaining original team member, Donny – who is taking part in his third Race The Sun, last year’s debutant Sean – who is on a mission to beat last years time and the new kid on the block, Chris – who really hasn’t got to grips with the severity of the task ahead as yet!
For those of you unaware, Race The Sun Brecon Beacons 2016 is a triathlon style event comprising of a 45mile cycle, a climb up Pen y Fan (2,907ft) and a 3km canoe in the Pontsticill Reservoir starting at sunrise and (hopefully!) finishing by sunset.
Action Medical Research
The team are raising money for a fantastic cause, Action Medical Research. Action have been funding medical breakthroughs since they began in 1952 including the first polio vaccines in the UK, ultrasound in pregnancy and the rubella vaccine, helping to save thousands of children’s lives and change many more.
Any amount donated, no matter how small will be greatly appreciated and go some way to making a breakthrough in changing someone’s life.
Right now the best medical minds in children’s hospitals and universities across the UK are waiting for the green light to start research that could lead to life-changing treatments for babies and children.>
We would like to wish good luck to the team for their training and on the day and would appreciate any donations for this great cause. You can donate via their official online page.
