Made in the North West Awards 2015
Last week saw the third Made in the North West awards take place at the Park Royal Hotel in Warrington. Since its inauguration in 2013, these awards have grown from strength to strength and have showcased the success of British manufacturing in the North West.
The awards were spread over 8 categories including, Manufacturing Innovation, Advanced Manufacturing / Technology, Green / Sustainable Manufacturer, Exporter of the Year, Food and Drink, Medical and Life Sciences, Apprenticeships and finally the Manufacturing Company of the Year.
The event took place on the 21st May and we would like to congratulate Beaconsfield Footwear (Hotter Shoes) on winning the Manufacturing Company of the Year award for 2015.
Chris Maguire, the editor of North West Business Insider and host for the evening, said the assembled manufacturers should be proud of their achievements regardless of whether they took home a prize. “The quality and quantity of the winners was excellent and many will stand a great chance in the Made in the UK final in July.”
We would also like to take this opportunity to extend the congratulations to a few of our customers who won in their respective categories or came a close second.
Polyflor won in the ‘Green / Sustainable Manufacturer’ award category which is awarded to the company that has demonstrated the greatest commitment through its products or internal processes to forging a low carbon manufacturing future. Polyflor have recently moved to Frontline to support their IBM Cognos business intelligence software.
Frank Roberts & Sons won in the ‘Food and Drink’ award category which is awarded to the company that the judges felt had the biggest impact between January 2014 to December 2014. Frank Roberts & Sons have been working with Frontline for over a decade on various IT projects including virtualisation.
Tetrosyl came runner up in the ‘Manufacturing Innovation’ award category which was awarded to companies that generated a substantial commercial benefit from an innovative product or process designed and manufactured in the North West. In addition, they were also shortlisted in the ‘Manufacturing Company of the Year’ award. Frontline have been working with Tetrosyl for over half a decade on various IT projects including server support.
Good luck to all those companies who have gone through to the Made in the UK final in July.
