Zoedale is a Value Added Reseller of a number of different ranges of Valves, Actuators and Solenoid Valves to the Pharmaceutical, Biomedical, Oil and Gas, Petrochemical, Process Control, Brewing, Food, Water and Medical industries.

Established in 1976, Zoedale employ 15 staff and have offices in Bedford and Aberdeen. Zoedale have a team of sales engineers and can pull from any number of products in their portfolio to design and assemble flow control solutions to fit their clients needs.

Ambitious growth plans that needed to be supported by technology

Zoedale were using Pegasus Opera 2 and Prospectsoft for CRM and decided that they would need to upgrade their software.

Tim Guest, Director at Zoedale, stated the company wanted to have “one system to cover everything rather than two separate systems where information got lost and often had to be duplicated”.

Due to Zoedale’s business growth plans, Guest added that they required a solution that was “more robust and also scalable to cope with our expansion plans”.

Additionally, reporting was very difficult within the legacy systems, and a key factor in choosing to migrate to SAP Business One was the ability to be able to easily create custom reports on all aspects of the business to assess performance and help with strategy and planning.

One system to manage the business – SAP Business One

Based on Frontline’s recommendations achieved through their Connected Delivery approach to service and technology design, Zoedale implemented a number of tools to ensure that they get the best out of their SAP Business One investment. The Boyum Usability Package is a customisation tool for SAP Business One, which provides them with the ability to add bespoke buttons and make individual fields read only at a user level. As Director, Tim Guest, commented, “I couldn’t use SAP without it! I have the option to customise everything.”

Guest also highlighted the benefits of the Coresuite mobile solution which has provided him with the ability to keep
up to date with key business info when working remotely, as he commented, “I can now keep up to date with what

is going on and even process quotes and sales orders remotely, without 3G or WiFi.”

To delve deeper into the real time business data that is now readily available from SAP Business One, Zoedale use SAP Lumira, a free analytics, BI and Dashboard tool from SAP. Guest says, “I get my reports into Excel then simply upload to Lumira for slicing and dicing.”

Custom reports on demand and enhanced business control

Tim Guest at Zoedale has reported a number of business outcomes as a result of implementing SAP Business One with Frontline Consultancy:

  • Reporting – “SAP comes with a fantastic range of pre written reports on everything from sales to stock and these are extractable to Excel. I can also write basic SQL queries and Crystal reports to get detailed custom reports on any part of the business which is extremely useful.”
  • Traceability – SAP B1 follows a transaction from enquiry through to invoice. “This traceability has cut down the time it takes to give customers information on their order. We are able to spot errors before they become a problem and generally can offer a smoother, slicker service to our customers.”
  • Stock Control – Zoedale are using minimum stock levels along with MRP functionality to provide some intelligence for the purchasing team. “We are already noticing a decline in orders we have to turn down because we are out of stock and this is improving all the time.”

Connected Delivery: Expertise and specialist skills with a personal touch

Zoedale decided to implement SAP Business One with Frontline due to their
unique skill set and approach to service delivery, drawing on Frontline’s unique Connected Delivery service methodology which ensures increased project success through following the ITIL framework combined with Frontline’s own expertise.

As Director at Zoedale, Tim Guest, commented, “Frontline are big enough to have

During the implementation, Zoedale experienced a few issues with data importing but Frontline quickly addressed the situation to ensure the project was not delayed. Guest commented on Frontline’s ability to work closely with Zoedale when required, saying, “Frontline offered us a consultant at short notice to put us back on track and were accommodating when we needed to move the go live date.”
